Pada saat memasuki kampus dua siswa melakukan percakapan yang membahas beberapa hal 

Dodi: Morning Mirna

Mirna: Hi Dodi? You are taking Ecology Three Eleven, too?

Dodi: Looks like it. It's my only elective this term.

(Mirna menanyakan jurusan yang diambil Dodi)

Mirna : really? What happened?

Dodi: I just took too many my second year, and now I've got to pick up all the required courses I've been ignoring. University's just too much fun, I guess.

(Dodi telah banyak ketinggalan pelajaran karena mengabaikan}

Mirna: Too many parties?

Dodi: Well, yeah, that too. But you know there are just so many interesting things to learn about, and we've only got four years here to explore them. I've having too good a time at it, that's all. But it has helped me decide my mayor, finally.

Mirna: And?

Dodi:  I've learned a lot here, and one thing I've learnt is that most fields don't hold out a lot of promise for gainful employment. So I'm playing it safe and going for my BA in business administration.

Mirna: So, Why Three Eleven? An ecology course isn't going to help you in your office job at some corporation.

Dodi: Probably not, but It still seems interesting and important. We all need to know about the environment, no matter what we do for a living.

Mirna: You're right. And maybe you will be able to use it. Maybe you'll end up working for a green company or something.

Dodi: Could be. There's more and more of those every day.

Mirna: And thank goodness. Poor old earth.

Karena kepedulian Dodi akan lingkungan hidup, dia mengambil mata kuliah ekologi, dengan mengesampingkan sulitnya mendapatkan pekerjaan setelah lulus kuliah.

        Last holiday I visited my uncle's family who live in Bogor. His house is near a tea plantation and has wonderful surroundings.
       One morning, my cousin Doni, who is two years older than me, show me his horse. Doni said that he is a pretty skillful horse rider. To hear that, I felt envious. So, I asked him to teach me how to ride a horse. Doni then asked me whether I was really brave enough to ride a horse. Confidently I said yes.
        Doni taught me how to sit on the horse's bridles. He didn't let me ride the horse by myself. He sat behind me and guided the horse.
      The following day, I intended to ride the horse by myself. The horse was quite tame so Doni allowed me to. However, he still watched me. He followed me on another horse. I held the bridles and rode the horse carefully. Finally I succeeded in riding the horse around the plantation. I felt very happy. It was like a dream that I could finally ride a horse!
        You know what! It is the best holiday I've ever had! I promise Doni that I will return next holiday and explore the plantation with him, on horse. That'll be great!

         For many years people believe that the cleverest animals after man were chimpanzees. Now, however, there is proof that dolphins may be even cleverer than these big apes.
           Although dolphin lives in the sea it is not a fish. It is a mammal. It is in many ways, therefore, like a human being.
           Dolphins have a simple language. They are able to talk to one another. It may be possible for man to learn how to talk to dolphins. But this will not be easy because dolphins can not hear the kind of sounds man can make. If man wants to talk to dolphins, therefore, he will have to make a third language which both he and the dolphins can understand.
            Dolphins are also very friendly towards man. They often follow ships. There are many stories of dolphins guiding ships through difficult and dangerous waters.

Penjelasan tentang Articles (a, an, the) dan soal-soal untuk pemahaman

A and An

A dan an hanya bisa mengawali kata benda yang dapat dihitung dan menunjukkan jumlah hanya satu (singular countable noun). A dan an biasanya digunakan untuk menyatakan hal secara umum.

A digunakan untuk kata yang berawalan bunyi konsonan
An digunakan untuk kata yang berwalan bunyi vokal (a,o,e,u,i)

The  digunakan menunjukkan sesuatu yang sudah tentu atau sesuatu yang sudah dipahami oleh pembicara dan lawan bicara. The juga digunakan untuk mengawali suatu benda yang sama yang pernah disebutkan sebelummnya.

Eliptical Construction contoh dan pembahasan soal bahasa Inggris prediksi UN SMP 2015

Eliptical Construction merupakan dua kalimat yang dijadikan satu karena terdapat persamaan pada predikat, objek, dan modal/tense. Eliptical Construction terdiri dari dua jenis yaitu too and either, serta so and neither.

Soal dan Pembahasan:

1. Wira : I can't go to the Billy's party.
    Dani : I can't either
    Wira : Why?
    Dani : I feel not good today. Well, What about you?
    Wira : I must go to Bali this afternoon.

  What does it mean?

A. Both of Dani and Wira will not present at Billy's party.
B. Wira attends the Billy's party in Bali but Dani doesn't.
C. Dani and Wira go together at Billy's party.
D. Dani comes to Billy's party without Wira.

Pembahasan:

Wira : I can't go to the Billy's party. ( saya tidak bisa pergi ke pesta ulang tahun Dani)
Dani : I can't go either.

Dari percakapan tersebut diketahui bahwa Wira dan Dani tidak akan datang ke pesta ulang tahin Billy.

2. Sinta and Jojo went to Bali last week. We can also say that Sinta went to Bali last week and ...

A. Neither did Jojo.

Pembahasan:

Pembahasan tentang Greeting Card pelajaran bahasa Inggris SMP kurikulum 2013

Greeting card atau kartu ucapan adalah kartu yang kita kirimkan untuk mengucapkan sesuatu pada orang lain, misalnya ucapan selamat, ucapan turut berdukacita, ucapan terimakasih, mendoakan seseorang, tahun baru, kesuksesan, dan lain-lain.

Berikut ini adalah beberapa contoh greeting card:
  • Birthday card, diberikan pada seseorang saat berulang tahun
  • Eid ul-Fitr card, diberikan pada saat lebaran 1 syawal.
  • Happy New Year Card, diberikan saat datangnya tahun baru.
Greeting card menyerupai surat, tetapi dalam bentuk yang sangat sederhana. Isi greeting card bisa berupa ucapan biasa atau kata-kata mutiara.

Pembahasan Soal Bahasa Inggris berhubungan dengan Notice and Caution UN SMP


  • Notice adalah pemberitahuan dalam bentuk tulisan atau tanda yang ditunjukkan pada publik untuk memberi informasi, instruksi, atau peringatan.
  • Caution adalah peringatan atau saran yang ditunjukkan pada publik tentang sebuah bahaya atau resiko yang mungkin terjadi.



Peringatan di atas dapat kita temukan di bandara atau didalam pesawat terbang. Maksudnya adalah agar pengguna telepon seluler tidak menghidupkan teleponnya yang dapat mengganggu navigasi pesawat.

  • Notice anda caution selalu ditulis dalam kalimat yang singkat dan jelas agar mudah dipahami. Ciri-cirinya adalah menggunakan kata kerja dalam bentuk imperative seperti yang biasa kita gunakan dalam perintah.
Contoh:
  • Keep off the grass!
  • Do not enter
  • Beware of the dog
  • no smoking
